Transfers
Morocco's surf coast runs for about 200 km between Agadir and Essaouira, with Tamraght, Taghazout, Imsouane and Sidi Kaouki in between. There is no train and few direct buses, so moving between surf spots usually means a taxi. This guide gives the times and fixed prices for every main route on the coast.
Many surfers split a trip between two or three spots: the point breaks around Taghazout, the long, easy wave of Imsouane and the windy beaches near Essaouira. A private transfer takes you from one surf camp to the next with your boards inside the car.
Fixed prices per vehicle for a sedan (1 to 3 passengers), the same in both directions. Surfboards travel free.

For groups, a van for up to 6 costs €45 from Agadir Airport to Tamraght, €70 from Taghazout to Imsouane and €90 from Taghazout to Essaouira. Each route page shows the full price list, up to a 17-seat minibus.
The first villages north of Agadir, about 40 minutes from the airport. Lots of surf camps, beginner beaches and a relaxed feel. Aourir is also called Banana Village, after the banana plantations along the road.
Morocco's best-known surf village, with point breaks such as Anchor Point and Killer Point that work best with a big winter swell. Taghazout Bay, just to the south, has the resort hotels and a golf course.
A small fishing village about 65 km north of Taghazout. Its Bay is one of the longest right-hand waves in Africa: slow and forgiving, perfect for longboards and for learning. The village is quiet, with a few surf camps and fish restaurants by the harbour.
Essaouira is a walled port town with a lively medina, about 2h30 north of Taghazout. Its bay is often windy, which makes it a kitesurf and windsurf spot more than a surf town. Sidi Kaouki, 25 km south, has a wide beach and a quiet village popular with surfers and kitesurfers.
Send us your surf camps and dates. Fixed price per car, boards free, pay the driver on arrival.
CTM and Supratours coaches link Agadir and Essaouira in about 3 hours, but they stop in the towns, not in the surf villages. You need a taxi at each end, and board bags can be charged as extra luggage.
Local buses run along the coast from Agadir to Tamraght and Taghazout, and grand taxis leave when they are full. They are cheap, but there is no direct line to Imsouane or Sidi Kaouki, and boards are not always welcome.
A door-to-door ride from one surf camp to the next, at the time you choose, with boards inside the car. Split between three or four surfers, the price is often close to buses plus taxis.
