About This Route

Taghazout to Imsouane

Imsouane is a small fishing village famous for The Bay, one of the longest right-hand waves in Africa and a great spot for longboarders and beginners. It is about 65 km north of Taghazout, roughly 1 hour 10 minutes by car.

Your driver picks you up at your surf camp, apartment or hotel in Taghazout, Taghazout Bay or Tamraght and drops you at your accommodation in Imsouane. Surfboards travel free.

The road from Taghazout to Imsouane, stage by stage

A short and scenic drive on the coast road. Plan on about 1 hour 10 minutes without stops.

Two waves, two villages

Taghazout has powerful point breaks such as Anchor Point, best with a big swell. Imsouane's Bay is long, slow and forgiving, ideal for longboards and learning. Many surfers split their stay between both, or come for a day when the swell is right.

Shared taxi or private taxi?

Grand taxi or local bus: cheap, but there is no direct line, the car leaves when full, and there is often a change at Tamri. Board bags are not always welcome.
Private taxi or transfer (from €50 per car): straight from your door to your surf camp, boards inside, at the time you choose.
