About This Route

Essaouira to Imsouane

Imsouane is a quiet fishing village on the coast between Essaouira and Agadir, known for its long right-hand wave in the bay. From Essaouira it is about 85 km, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by car.

Your driver picks you up at the medina gate nearest to your riad, or at your hotel in Diabat or Sidi Kaouki, and drops you at your surf camp or guesthouse in Imsouane. Surfboards travel free.

Pickup in the Essaouira medina

Cars cannot enter the medina. Tell us the name of your riad and we arrange to meet you at the nearest gate, usually Bab Sbaa or Bab Marrakech. Porters with carts can bring your bags and boards from the riad for a few dirhams.

Bus or private taxi?

Bus or grand taxi: buses towards Agadir pass the Imsouane turn-off, but they do not go down to the village, so you need another taxi for the last kilometres.
Private taxi or transfer (from €60 per car): from your riad to your surf camp, boards inside, at the time you choose.
