The drive is short. What takes time is getting out of the medina with your bags, so we agree the meeting point with your riad in advance.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and fixed when you book, with no surcharge for early mornings.

When to leave for your flight

Security and check-in queues at Marrakech Airport can be long in high season. Plan to arrive about 3 hours before an international flight. From most riads, a pickup about 3 hours 20 minutes before departure is enough. More tips in our Marrakech Airport departure guide.

Getting your bags out of the medina

Most riads are in lanes too narrow for cars. Ask your riad to have someone walk your luggage to the meeting point, or use one of the porters with hand carts for a small tip. Send us your riad's name and we tell you exactly where the driver will wait.

Petit taxi or private transfer?

• Petit taxi: cheap in theory, but you need to find one near the medina with your bags, and early in the morning prices are often negotiated.
• Private transfer (from €18 per car): booked in advance, driver waiting at the agreed time, fixed price.
